We would like to invite you to attend the International Conference on Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing 2024 which will be held from 3 – 6 December 2024 in Cape Town, South Africa.
The ICSSM 2024 aims to provide an opportunity for academics, researchers, and industry professionals to showcase their latest advancements in smart manufacturing technologies (Industry 4.0), emphasizing their role in achieving sustainability goals within the manufacturing sector. The conference offers a platform to explore how engineering advancements can be leveraged to address environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices in global manufacturing. Networking opportunities, collaboration, and joint participation among delegates are encouraged during the conference.
ICSSM 2024 would like to invite presenters to submit either full papers or extended abstracts for presentation. For international presenters unable to attend in person, we are offering the option to present their papers during specially organised virtual sessions. While the conference is primarily in-person, we recognise the importance of accommodating our international authors. These virtual sessions will provide a convenient platform for remote participation. Additionally, international presenters opting for virtual presentations will benefit from a reduced conference registration fee of US$150. This initiative aims to ensure inclusivity and encourage participation from researchers worldwide, further enriching the conference experience. This will not be a hybrid conference where virtual delegates can access the other sessions of the conference, but will be able to join in specific allocated time-slots.
All accepted papers, whether presented in-person or in virtual sessions, will undergo a double peer-review process as per the review policy (See button below: “Information for authors, ethics and review policy”). This means that all papers accepted for Oral Presentation at the Conference will be published by AIP Publishing, which is indexed in Scopus, Web of Science (Thomson Reuters) etc. Selected papers will be featured in a special issues of the accredited journals African Journal of Science, Technology Innovation and Development (published by Taylor and Francis) and Processes (published by MDPI). Please note that authors are responsible for open access charges for the “Processes” journal.
On 3 December, various workshops will be presented, followed by conference sessions on 4 – 6 December. Proposal for workshops can also be submitted.
Delegates who are registered with ECSA can earn CPD points when attending the conference. See details on the “Information” page.
